MB Designs Jewelry Review and Giveaway

Yesterday I had the pleasure of shopping in a wonderful little shop in the old part of downtown Florence, SC, called Railroad Junction. I had heard of and even seen this shop before, but I had never found the time to stop and go inside before. Well, I needed a Mother's Day gift and thought of an acquaintance, Marion Berry, who told me he sold his handmade jewelry at Railroad Junction, so off I went to check it out. Marion is the owner of MB Designs Jewelry and hand crafts each piece, often re-purposing pieces from old jewelry. Now you all know I am a huge fan of supporting local anything, so I was excited to be able to support a local artist and he even offered to meet me there. Marion showed me some wonderful pieces and even brought more in the car in case I didn't find anything in the shop! His jewelry started at about $10 for simpler beadwork pieces, but he also had some very nice elaborate necklaces, beautiful stones set in sterling wire to form pendants, pieces made from 1920s glass beads, and more. I love the fact that he names each piece, too. My only problem was settling on one item form my mom!
After I finally made my choice, Marion graciously offered a pair of earrings to giveaway here on Mama Making Changes! Wow! Yay! These earrings are called "Yellow Brick Road" and have a retail value of $12. They are made from Czech glass and brass and are very pretty and summery!

Interested in looking at more of MB Designs Jewelry? If you are local, head on down to the shop and you can do some Mother's Day shopping while you're there. Railroad Junction is at 163 West Evans Street. If you aren't from Florence, you can see more of Marion's jewelry on his website at http://mbdesignsjewelryetc.com.  Tomorrow night, May 11, you can check out Visualicious 2012 at the Art Trail Gallery down the street from 5:30 to 8:30 after you stop by Railroad Junction, which is open from 1pm to 7pm daily. This Saturday, May 12, and every 2nd Saturday, is the Songwriter's Series from 4 to 6 at Railroad Junction so you can hear local musicians live while you support local artists and artisans. Fun! Or stop by next Wednesday when you visit the new Downtown Farmer's Market that I keep telling you about. It's across the street!
Here's the Rafflecopter for the giveaway. Giveaway starts at 12:01 am on May 11 and ends on May 19 at 11:59 pm. Winner will be notified by email. This giveaway is open to U.S. residents only please.
