Summer Blog Challenge: Day 35

Today's Challenge: Talk about a fear you have.

Okay, you asked for it. Ready for a good laugh? I have more than one fear, of course, but this is the one that you will find most interesting. But I am setting myself up here. Oh my. Here it is.

Since I was a child and for as long as I can remember, I have had an absolutely unexplainable, nonsense-ical,  totally irrational fear...of flushing a toilet in the dark! It isn't the toilet I am afraid of, but the sound it makes when it flushes. This doesn't bother me at all during the daytime, but at night...I flush and run! I run to my bed and jump onto it as quickly as possible!

I know you are laughing so hard right now that tears are coming to your eyes. Or maybe so hard you have to pee? Hahaha. I don't blame you! Anyone want to offer up some Freudian explanation for my freaky fear? I'd love to hear your interpretation on this one!

Do you have an unusual fear? What is it?

  1. That is pretty funny! I have a toilet fear myself! I absolutely hate going to the bathroom other than my home because...I'm afraid a snake is going to come up and bite my butt! I watched Unsolved Mysteries when I was 8 and have been paranoid ever since!

  2. I hate it when they auto flush and I'm still sitting on it. What a strange feeling!!

  3. So, BOTH my kids are afraid of flushing toilets... especially auto flush toilets! There was a period of time when I had to hold my hand over the sensor while my son or daughter "sat on the pot" so that the flush didn't go off! So... you are not the only one!

    1. Well I hope they outgrow and don't turn out to be scaredy cat grownups like me! lol

  4. Hi Laura, I've been reading your blog for a while and I think I read once that you wanted to get more in shape. I am starting an exercise challenge on my blog and if you want to join me I would love the support! I'm thinking if I get other people to do it with me, I'll actually do it. :) Heres the link to my blog post, let me know what you think

  5. So my question is: Have you thought to maybe turn on the lights when you go into the bathroom? Haha! Just a thought.
