Summer Blog Challenge: Day 66

Today's Challenge: Talk about your dream job.

What I really want to do is be a SAHM, but since that isn't a possibility...

If I could choose any career, I would work with a non-profit environmental organization in some capacity. My plan earlier in life was to go to law school and specialize in environmental law. More specifically, I dreamed of working for Greenpeace. I quit school after I got my Bachelor's degree because I wanted to have more time with my son, so I never went to law school. It was a tough decision, but I have never regretted it. Going to law school and working part-time would have left very little time for him. I did work for an environmental lobbying group for a while, but I wasn't very good at getting donations and my pay was based on the amount of money I raised, so I didn't stay there very long.

On the other hand, I would also love to own my own business. I have tons of great ideas (at least I think they're great) but no money to get started. For example, this city has consignment for women and consignment for kids, but nothing for teens and young adults. An hour away to the east or an hour away to the west, they have such shops. But nothing here. If only...

What would be your dream job? I love reading your comments, so make yourself heard!

  3. John is the same way...he has tons of great ideas for businesses, only most of his are crazy ideas...for instance, he wants to start a company that specializes in picking up dog poop in peoples yards...he also wants to start a bar, but I will never let that happen!

  4. I sometimes dislike that finances {or lack of} get in the way of pursuing dreams. It would be wonderful if you were able to start the consignment store targeting teens and young adults.

  5. That sounds SO much like what I want to do! Either non-profit environmental or non-profit human rights - Green Peace, Amnesty International, Peace Corps, etc. I'm taking International Environmental Policy this semester, too! ♥
