Summer Blog Challenge: Day 38

Today's Challenge: Post song lyrics that mean something to you.

I am a huge Michael Jackson fan, but this song takes the cake. It's less known because it was released not long before he died. The lyrics are amazing and really touching. These words say so much about what I believe and how I feel. When I listen to this song or even just read the lyrics I feel this sense of angst, a tugging in my heart, and I want to DO SOMETHING!

What about sunrise? What about rain? What about all the thingsThat you said we were to gain?
What about killing fields? Is there a time? What about all the thingsThat you said was yours and mine?
Did you ever stop to noticeAll the blood we've shared before?Did you ever stop to noticeThe crying earth, the weeping shores?
What have we done to the world?Look what we've done. What about all the peaceThat you pledged your only son?
What about flowering fields? Is there a time? What about all the dreamsThat you said was yours and mine?
Did you ever stop to noticeAll the blood we've shared before?Did you ever stop to noticeThis crying earth, this weeping shore?

  1. I love this one, too!! It makes you want to get up and take a stand, and you can hear in his voice how passionate he was about this subject.

  2. He was such a powerful songwriter, we often don't get that side of him. This reminds me a bit of the power of Man in the Mirror. Anthems for us all to memorize and act upon....

A great read this early Monday morning!
