According to The Better World Shopping Guide, 2008 edition, these are the 10 worst companies you. Oils patronize. Rankings are based on human rights, the environment, animal protection, community involvement, and social justice.

1. Exxon-Mobil
2. Kraft
3. Wal-Mart
4. Chevron-Texaco
5. Pfizer
6. Nestle
7. General Electric
8. Archer Daniels Midland
9. General Motors
10. Tyson Foods

  3. I have the Better World guide too and it was a major inspiration for my own challenge to become a conscious consumer. Paige also makes a great point that most of these are huge parent companies so we really have to dig deep when researching.

  4. Yes, ladies. I agree that we have to be careful because many of these own other brands. I was surprised by only a few of them. I intend to delve deeper into Kraft.

  5. Sometimes people have their own personal agenda that slants their view. I would hope everyone would find out the why and see if it is something they agree with before just following someone's list. Walmart for one, I feel gets a bad rap for all the low prices they offer the consumer. Many people shop there because that is what they can afford.
