Patience is a Virtue

I've heard over and over again...never pray for patience because the Lord just might teach you all about it. Well, I won't lie...I am afraid to pray for patience! But it is definitely not one of my strengths! I think the reason there are so many wonderful sayings about patience is that we need so much reminding to be patient!

I need so much help in this area, it's just ridiculous. I want everything to be the way I want it and I want it that way now. Because that's what I want, okay?
Heehee.
Sorry.
That's only a slight exaggeration though!

I am learning that often when things don't go our way, it's because God has something better in store. We just have to sit back and be patient! Ooooh I feel like a kid at birthday party, though. I wanna open the presents, eat the cake and ice cream, blow out the candles, and I want to do it all now! I don't want to wait till someone else is ready!

Seriously, folks, help me out here. Pray for me. I have some serious stress in my life right now and I need to stop reacting so strongly and just wait. "Good things come to those who wait," right? I know this. But knowing it and doing it are two different things. So, yes, please pray for me. But don't pray for me to learn patience!

  1. I've never heard that quote... Patience is not the ability to wait, but the ability to keep a good attitude while waiting." I'm going to have to pin this to remind myself. Sorry about the stress you're going through... will pray for you.

  2. I really like the quotes on this post. My family is going through a time where we need to be patient, and having patience is not an easy thing. Your quotes you posted do provide us strength at this time. Praying for you to have the same strength.

  3. I learned patience during my weekly commute up north along with every retired couple in their RV. I found that it didn't matter how upset I got the car in front of me did not care. I was going to get there when I got there, the only difference was how I felt when I got there.

  4. Did you manage to learn patience? I am in the middle of a similar problem, and Lord only knows how difficult it is and how frightened I am. Do you have any advice?
